Close to 100 Irish dancers from Cashel Dennehy School of Irish Dance made the trip to Chicago for 2017 Mid-America Oireachtas, a regional dance competition. The November 24-26 event was a world qualifier for the 2018 World Irish Dance Championships in Glasgow, Scotland next March.
To compete at the 2017 Mid-America Oireachtas, dancers had to qualify at previous competitions in the last 12 months. Dancers are competing as both soloists and ceili team members.
“We are so proud of all of our dancers and these students have worked incredibly hard to be ready to compete at this high level,” said Laura Gottschlich, DO, TCRG. “Be it a first time soloist or a seasoned team member, we are excited to see our Irish dancers shine on the big stage later this week.”
Cashel Dennehy teachers include Kathy Dennehy, ADCRG; Laura Gottschlich, DO, TCRG; Kate Habel, TCRG; Maura Heck, TCRG and Alyssa Harling, TCRG.
